PACC Students Shine at Cooking Competition

Being a CAPDA helps create meaningful connections—connections that will be remembered by the LaSalle community and the Grade 6 students at LaSalle Senior Elementary. Recently, the Grade 6 classes gathered in the library to meet someone who explained that discipline and hard work can turn dreams into reality.

Lester B.’s head office recently received a vibrant makeover thanks to a series of new murals painted by artists Beverly Landry and Frank Caracciolo. Designed to transform the building’s walls from dull grey to inviting, colorful spaces, the murals bring a fresh and welcoming energy to staff, students, and visitors alike.

In every school, there are people whose impact is felt long before their name is spoken. There are individuals whose presence brings calm, whose actions bring safety, and whose heart brings community. At Horizon High School, that person is Jermaine Ebanks.

Lasalle Community Comprehensive High School Grade 11 IB students are bringing Service in Action to life through an innovative mentorship program with neighbouring Allion Elementary Grade 3 classes.

Thanks to FedEx and Operation Warm, students at Maple Grove Elementary School recently stepped into comfort and confidence after receiving brand-new shoes and socks.

The air in the gymnasium usually hums with the sounds of basketballs and sneakers, but once a year, it undergoes a profound transformation. The hallways of John Rennie High School (JRHS) shift from a typical suburban high school into a high-stakes forum for global diplomacy. This is the JRHS Model United Nations, an annual cornerstone of the Grade 11 experience that challenges our students to step out of their daily routines and onto the international stage.

Marc Walsh has an eye for detail. Walsh, 68, is a recently retired artist who makes building scale models in his spare time.

The Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB) proudly took part in this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, filling the streets with energy, celebration, and a strong sense of community. Celebrated every year since 1824, this iconic parade is one of the oldest in the world and the largest outside of New York. Cheer for us on March 22, in downtown Montreal, with the parade starting at the corner of Fort and De Maisonneuve streets.

Congratulations to the LaSalle Elementary Senior Girls Basketball team for winning silver at the 2026 Jeux de Montréal. The team was coached by Physical Education teacher Michael Putré, with support from Grade 4 English teacher Lynn Dallaire and Grade 7 student (and former captain) Viviana Anderson Romero.

It was a squirrely day at Beacon Hill on April 13th as the school came together for a cause. CAPDA Stef Gervasi began the tradition of a “Pay It Forward” fundraiser, and this year marked Beacon Hill’s 3rd annual event.

Across the snowy grounds of Dorval Elementary, the rhythmic sounds of traditional song filled the air as students gathered for a vibrant celebration of winter.

Students from several of our schools recently had the exciting opportunity to learn the sport of curling, thanks to the generous volunteers from the Hudson Legion Curling Club.

To kick off March Break, Beurling Academy was treated to a special basketball game between its students and the SPVM.

The Grade 9 St. Thomas student was named to the Équipe Relève Aléo, a group of 50 student-athletes from across Quebec, identified among the province’s top emerging talents.

The week before March break, schools across the Board came alive with excitement and school spirit as students and staff celebrated Carnival Week.

This year, the annual tradition celebrated 70 years of existence and took on a cleverly executed “Night of the Living Dead” theme. The two-night event was a spectacular showcase of the immense talent, creativity, and unwavering dedication that our students and staff bring to the stage year after year, pulled together in less than 24 hours due to the school closures!

Through the month of March, grade 3 students and their teachers took part in a meaningful fundraising project to support the World Wildlife Fund.

Beechwood Elementary was awash in pink as students and staff came together to celebrate Pink Shirt Day—an important reminder that kindness, empathy, and inclusion are values to be practiced every day. The school community stood united against bullying, reaffirming its commitment to creating a safe and caring environment for all.

Thank you LBPSB. Thank you for creating events and activities that allow my children to enjoy their educational journey. On Tuesday March 30, 2026, my son had the opportunity to participate in the board final of the Battle of the Books competition. Seeing all the students, school staff, board staff, commissioners, parents, and special guests (including celebrity quiz master Trudy Mason) made the event even more memorable.
