Council Summary August 2022

To ensure members of the Lester B. Pearson School Board community remain up to date regarding what transpires at regular Council of Commissioners meetings, the Department of Communications and Community Development sends out summaries of the different decisions that are taken following each meeting.
Please find some of the highlights below that were taken during the August 29th regular meeting.
- The Council of Commissioners of the Lester B. Pearson School Board approved that, effective July 1, 2022, the remuneration to be remitted to the members of the Council of Commissioners of the Lester B. Pearson School Board be established in accordance with the maximum amount determined by Order in Council 1054-2022 and distributed as follows:
- Chair: 2 shares
- Vice-Chair: 1.5 shares
- Commissioners: 15 shares
- CGTSIM Delegate: 0 share
- CGTSIM Substitute: 0.5 share
- The Council of Commissioners approved that the review of the Policy on Employment and Assignment of Relatives be assigned to the Human Resources Committee and that the review of By-law #9 Complaint Examination Procedure be assigned to the Governance and Ethics Committee and that following their review, the committees recommend a draft document to the Council of Commissioners for consideration.
- It was approved that the Council of Commissioners of the Lester B. Pearson School Board receive the Student Ombudsman’s report on file number SO 2022-08/01 and refer the study of said report to its Governance and Ethics Committee; and that the Governance and Ethics Committee report to the Council of
