To ensure members of the Lester B. Pearson School Board community remain up-to-date regarding what transpires at regular Council of Commissioners meetings, the Department of Communications and Community Development sends out summaries of the different decisions that are taken following each meeting.

Please find below highlights of some of the decisions that were taken during the August 26th meeting. Different Committee reports that were presented as well as the minutes can be found at the following link: https://www.lbpsb.qc.ca/council-of-commissioners/information-from-council/

1. The Council of Commissioners approved that Daniel Mullins be temporarily assigned to the position of Assistant Director of the Department of Communications and Community Development Board, effective August 27th, 2024.

2. The Council of Commissioners approved that Nathalie Allain be appointed Assistant Director of Student Services effective retroactively August 19th 2024(probationary status).

3. The Council of Commissioners approved that Mark Newton be appointed Coordinator of Communications and Community Development (Career Development Services) of the Lester Pearson School Board, effective August 27, 2024 (probationary status).

4. The Council of Commissioners approved that Deborah Dixon and Kathleen O’Reilly be appointed Regional Directors of the Lester Pearson School Board, effective August 27, 2024 (probationary status).

5. The Council of Commissioners approved that: the Youth Sector School Calendar for the 2024-2025 school year be amended:

• • To change the board wide pedagogical days of October 18, 2024 and January 24, 2025 to board wide teacher driven pedagogical days;
  • To add May 16, 2025 as a board wide teacher driven pedagogical day; and
  • That the Continuing Education Calendar for the 2024-2025 school year be amended to change part of the pedagogical day of October 18, 2024 to a teacher driven pedagogical day.
