Council Summary June 2022

To ensure members of the Lester B. Pearson School Board community remain up to date regarding what transpires at regular Council of Commissioners meetings, the Department of Communications and Community Development sends out summaries of the different decisions that are taken following each meeting.

  1. The Council of Commissioners of the Lester Pearson School Board approved that the administrative assignment changes in the schools and centres of the LBPSB described in the chart on p. 2 entitled Administrative Staffing Assignments 2022-2023 (Schools and Centers) take effect on July 1, 2022.

 

  1. The Council of Commissioners approved that Minaz Shaikh be appointed Coordinator of Finance of the Lester Pearson School Board, effective July 11, 2022 (Probationary Status).

 

  1. The Council of Commissioners approved the Lester Pearson School Board’s participation in the Centre d’acquisitions gouvernementales (CAG) group purchasing of Pedagogical Digital Equipment for the School Board to benefit from mesure # 50767 in its entirety.

 

  1. The Council of Commissioners approved that the contract to provide lunch catering services (Caf-mobile) to participating elementary schools of the Lester Pearson School Board be awarded, in accordance with the tender documents, to Traiteur Scolaire Merenda (6882161 Canada inc.), effective July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2027.

 

  1. The Council of Commissioners approved that the draft consultation document entitled School/Centre Name and External Property Name Policy be distributed to the consultative partners of the School Board during the week of June 27, Responses are to be returned to the Secretariat no later than November 15, 2022, for consideration and a reminder of this consultation will be sent by the Secretariat to the new Governing Boards in October 2022. As well, the final draft of the School/Centre Name and External Property Name Policy will be adopted at the meeting of the Council of Commissioners of November 28, 2022.

 

  1. The Council of Commissioners approved that sports protocols be signed with the non-profit legal persons Ringuette Québec and Fédération de patinage de vitesse du Québec.

 

  1. The Council Of Commissioners approved the $11.00 per student Québec English School Board Association membership fee for the 2022-2023 QESBA financial year which begins on July The Council of Commissioners authorized the disbursement of the QESBA 2022-2023 membership fees as follows:

 

  • 75% of the fees payable by July 13, 2022, based on the number of students registered on September 30, 2021;

 

  • 25% of the fees payable by February 1, 2023, based on the number of students registered on September 30,

 

  1. The Council of Commissioners approved the adoption of the Lester Pearson School Board’s Three-Year Plan of Allocation and Destination of Immovables July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2025 and that the applicable deeds of establishment be issued or modified accordingly.

 

  1. The Council of Commissioners approved that the contract to provide grocery products to participating schools and centres of the Lester Pearson School Board be awarded to Dubord & Rainville Inc., effective July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023
