Adult Learners’ Week 2025

Adult Learners' Week Back In-Person After 6 Years

by Dan Mullins

Recently, the Lester B. Pearson School Board’s Continuing Education department held their annual Adult Learners’ Week celebration. The event was held in person for the first time since 2019, making it an especially memorable occasion.

Following a warm welcome from the Director of Continuing Education, Maggie Soldano and remarks from LBPSB Chair of the Council of Commissioners Judy Kelley, Citizenship Judge and former LBPSB administrator Veronica Mae Johnson delivered the keynote presentation, speaking about the importance of dreams and education.

Directors of the Adult and Vocational Centres rose to present the cohort of students from their institutions with certificates, and one student from each adult or vocational centre spoke, sharing what were without exception inspirational and moving descriptions of their lives and journeys to achievement through continuing education.

Below are lists of students honoured from each centre, as well as a gallery of photos of the event.
