Beacon Hill: “Gonna Be, Gonna Be Golden”

Beacon Hill students showed their school spirit in full force this October with a celebration that was equal parts creative, cultural, and community-focused.

The event began with our Grade 2 teachers leading their students in a spooktacular performance of Le bal des sorciers, followed by the launch of our new school-wide International Initiative, where each month we’ll celebrate a different country.

Led by our music teacher, our first stop took us to Seoul, South Korea, with 31 speakers from Grades 2–6 presenting an engaging slideshow about the country’s culture, cuisine, and music. Students shared fascinating facts and showcased many of the real-life places featured in the hit musical K-Pop Demon Hunters. The celebration wrapped up with a lively medley featuring 94 dancers from Grades 1–5, reminding us that “our voices all combined, this is what it sounds like.” And the sound was truly golden!

Speaking of golden, we also held our monthly virtues assembly, recognizing 30 students from K4–Grade 6 who exemplified Respect and Thankfulness.

After announcing a record-setting $10,000 raised during our Terry Fox Walk, our principal, phys. ed. teacher and Grade 5 French teacher were good sports—literally—by being painted and slimed by three lucky student fundraisers!

The day concluded with our annual Boo Bash, organized by our incredible Home & School families and several alumni. With dancing, trunk-or-treating, and plenty of fun, it was a boo-tiful reminder of the joy and community spirit that make Beacon Hill shine.
