Carnival Week at Lester B. Schools!

by Marilyn Santucci
The week before March break, schools across the Board came alive with excitement and school spirit as students and staff celebrated Carnival Week.

The annual tradition brought communities together through a variety of winter-themed activities designed to promote fun, friendship, and well-being before the spring break.

Throughout the week, elementary schools organized special theme days, outdoor games, and creative classroom activities. Students bundled up to enjoy winter activities such as sledding, skiing, and tire sur la neige, while others took part in indoor celebrations including pajama and jersey days, played board games and participated in scavenger hunts. Many schools also incorporated hot chocolate stations and special treats, creating a festive atmosphere that students eagerly anticipated each day.

Carnival Week is more than just a celebration — it is an opportunity to strengthen school communities and create lasting memories. Staff members worked collaboratively to plan inclusive activities that encouraged participation from all students, helping to foster a sense of belonging and joy. The laughter heard in schoolyards and hallways reflected the importance of taking time to celebrate together, especially during the long winter months.

As students headed into March break, Carnival Week provided the perfect send-off: a chance to relax, connect with friends, and enjoy the spirit of winter!
