Council Summary December 2024

To ensure members of the Lester B. Pearson School Board community remain up-to-date regarding what transpires at regular Council of Commissioners meetings, the Department of Communications and Community Development sends out summaries of the different decisions that are taken following each meeting.

Administrative Staffing Change
1. The Council of Commissioners approved that the administrative assignment changes described in the chart below take effect on January 6, 2025:
Other Administrative Decisions
2. The Council of Commissioners approved that Kathleen O’Reilly be designated Summer School Coordinator for the Lester B. Pearson Summer School session 2025 with the possibility to extend for a second year.
3. The Council of Commissioners approved that Commissioners A. Berryman, A. Gross Charszan, S. Hossaini and J. Kelley represent the Lester B. Pearson School Board at the virtual annual conference of the Learning Disabilities Institute from March 19 to 21, 2025.
4. The Council of Commissioners approved that the consultation document entitled Budget Consultation Plan 2025-2026 be distributed to the consultative partners of the Lester B. Pearson School Board during the week of December 16, 2024, for the community to provide input on the allocation of subsidies, school tax proceeds and other revenues of the School Board, with responses to be returned to the Secretariat no later than March 28, 2025.
5. The Council of Commissioners approved that Council of Commissioners receive the Financial Statements of the Lester B. Pearson School Board for the year ending June 30, 2024, as audited by the external auditors MNP, S.E.N.C.R.L. / LLP.
6. The Council of Commissioners approved that the document entitled Council Committees Membership Chart, dated December 16, 2024, be adopted.
7. The Council of Commissioners approved that Commissioners M. Boyer and M. Shaheed represent the Lester B. Pearson School Board at the Canadian Association for the Practical Study of Law in Education conference to be held in Banff from April 9 to 11, 2025.
