Skating Playday

Recently, over 180 grade 3 & 4 students from three schools at the LBPSB, Sunshine Academy, St John Fisher Sr and Wilder Penfield participated in the Skating Playday, in partnership with Patinage Quebec and the RSEQ GMAA. 

The day included on-ice drills, as well as off-ice conferences with current Synchronized Skating Quebec Team athletes. Not only did Patinage Québec provide ice time & all the required equipment (skates & helmets), but they also supplied over a dozen volunteers to help with the smooth running of the day. Students who participated are also invited in March 2024 to attend the Bell Center to watch some of the official practices as part of the World Figure Skating Championships.
