The walls of St. John Fisher Senior echoed with chants, laughter, and the sounds of history brought to life as the beloved Grade 4 Medieval Unit reached its magnificent finale.

A cornerstone of the Grade 4 experience, this unforgettable unit swept students into the world of knights, castles, guilds, royalty, and more. From the moment they stepped into their new roles — lords, jesters, monks, queens, and knights — the students lived and breathed the Middle Ages in a hands-on journey of learning, creativity, and fun.

The crowning glory? An Incredible Medieval Fair that transformed the school’s basement into a living, breathing medieval museum! Passion projects took center stage, proudly displayed in themed nooks and alcoves that rivaled any castle exhibition. Students acted as curators, historians, and storytellers, guiding peers, parents, and teachers through their work with knowledge and enthusiasm that shone as brightly as a knight’s armor.

But the magic didn’t stop there.

The banquet table was set for the young lords, ladies, jesters, knights, peasants, knaves & clergy.

The long-awaited Medieval Feast brought the school to life. Students, dressed in character as their chosen medieval personas, paraded through the halls of SJF Senior, singing and chanting to the delight of the entire school. The energy was contagious. Cheers rang out as the procession arrived at the transformed gymnasium — now the Great Hall — where a royal banquet awaited.

There, the children dined like true kings and queens, surrounded by music, and merriment. From trenchers and goblets to jesters’ antics and a knighting ceremony, every detail captured the spirit of the era.

Lively, immersive, and joyfully engaging, the Medieval Unit stands tall as one of the most cherished and anticipated highlights at SJF Senior. Year after year, it ignites curiosity, builds confidence, and leaves memories that last far beyond Grade 4.
