More than $20 Million in Infrastructure and
Renovation Projects Approved

The Council of Commissioners of the Lester B. Pearson School Board is pleased to announce the approval of multiple construction/renovation projects at several schools across the board’s territory. The total cost of the projects is more than $20 million. Most projects, which involve both indoor and outdoor work, will begin at the end of June 2024 and will be completed by the end of August 2024.
“These major investments will enable us to continue to provide optimal teaching and learning environments for students and staff. This is crucial as our school board’s main priority is always to ensure the highest quality education as possible,” said Cindy Finn, Director General of the LBPSB.
Projects/Schools
1. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for Children’s World Academy. The work will involve staff and student bathroom renovations, replacement of the intercom system, replacement of water fountains and floor slab work.
2. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for Forest Hill Jr. Elementary School. The work includes a partial roof replacement and the replacement of rooftop units.
3. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for Horizon High School. The work includes the replacement of hallway ceilings, lights and bathrooms and the replacement of the alarm and intercom systems.
4. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for John Rennie High School. The work includes ceiling replacements, new camera systems and repairing the school intercom system.
5. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for LaSalle Jr. Elementary School. The work involves replacement of hallway ceilings and lighting and bathroom renovations. The alarm and intercom systems will be replaced.
6. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for Maple Grove Elementary School: The work involves exterior brick work, changing exterior windowsills and replacing exterior vestibule doors.
7. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for Pierrefonds Community High School. The work involves the replacement of the fire alarm and intercom system.
8. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for St-John Fisher Jr. Elementary School. The work involves brick work, the changing exterior lights and removal of end-of-life mechanical equipment.
9. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for St-Patrick Elementary School. The work involves replacement of the roof.
10. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for Sunshine Academy. The work involves the replacement of the heating system, exterior light fixtures and the existing ceiling.
11. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for Terry Fox Elementary School. The work includes the replacement of hallway ceiling and lights, plumbing work, and the replacement of the alarm and intercom systems.
12. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for Westpark Elementary School. The work includes improving ventilation systems and the replacement of Herman Nelsons.
13. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for Wilder Penfield Elementary School. The work includes repaving the parking lot and the school yard and upgrading lighting.
14. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for Lakeside Academy. The work includes locker room and bathroom renovations, relocating the weight room, and adding a special needs bathroom.
15. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for St-Thomas High School. The work includes renovating washrooms, upgrading intercom system and replacing light fixtures.
16. The Council of Commissioners approved a contract for Westwood Sr. High School. The work includes rehabilitation of the parking lot, bus drop-off and courtyard, water main and oil tank replacement and replacement of water mains.
