LBPSB, Music & Community Spirit at the St. Pat’s Parade

The Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB) proudly took part in this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, filling the streets with energy, celebration, and a strong sense of community. Celebrated every year since 1824, this iconic parade is one of the oldest in the world and the largest outside of New York. Cheer for us on March 22, in downtown Montreal, with the parade starting at the corner of Fort and De Maisonneuve streets.
A standout feature of the Board’s participation was the lively float brought to life by the incredibly talented students from St. John Fisher Senior Elementary. Their school band not only delivered a vibrant musical performance that had spectators smiling, clapping, and tapping their feet along the parade route — they also arrived with national recognition already under their belts. The St. John Fisher Sr. band has earned multiple honours in the prestigious CBC Music Class Challenge, including first‑place finishes and numerous top‑three placements on the national stage, celebrating musical excellence and student creativity from coast to coast.
From start to finish, the band’s enthusiasm and musicianship captured the festive spirit of the day and showcased the outstanding achievements of LBPSB students both on and off the parade route.
Participation in community events like the parade reflects LBPSB’s ongoing commitment to fostering connection, creativity, and pride among its students and schools. It was also an opportunity to highlight the dedication of staff and students who work hard to create meaningful and memorable experiences beyond the classroom.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to making the day such a success — from organizers and volunteers to the students and staff who represented the Board with pride. Together, they helped create a joyful celebration that truly embodied the spirit of the season.
