PEF Grants Support Robotics and Athletics
submitted by the Pearson Educational Foundation
The Pearson Educational Foundation (PEF) is proud to continue its grant program to help support LBPSB schools and students. To help revive the initiative since its pause for COVID, PEF awarded two $1,500 grants to schools in need with established programs: St. Patrick’s Elementary School’s Robotics program, and Beurling Academy’s Athletics program.
St. Patrick’s Elementary School’s will be using the grant to acquire new laptops to support the robotics program and to help their students make the most of their Robotics laboratory and help build their curiosity and potential. Beurling Academy will be using the grant to support their athletics department, namely its wrestling program where the funds will be used to purchase new uniforms.
The PEF Grants Program had been placed on hold during the extent of COVID, however, the PEF Board of Directors are working to revive the initiative to its original capacity for the 2024-2025 academic year, with the ambition to further support LBPSB school and students. A key driver for the success of this grant program is the availability of funds; therefore, PEF is continuously looking for more public and private sponsorships to expand its capabilities in providing to the community.
Stay tuned for launch of the 2024-2025 PEF Grant Program!
