2025 Rona Cupak Successes

As Winter Fades, We Celebrate a Season of Warmth and Generosity

As we say goodbye to another Canadian winter and welcome the first signs of spring, the Pearson Educational Foundation is taking a moment to reflect on a season filled with warmth—not just from snow suits and boots, but from the generosity and heart of our community.

The Rona Cupak Fund, created in memory of a beloved community champion, is devoted to supporting students in need throughout the Lester B. Pearson School Board. This year’s winter initiative truly showcased the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to care and inclusion, making sure no child was left out when it came to outdoor fun and seasonal play.

This past winter, the Rona Cupak Fund provided 104 snow suits and 106 pairs of winter boots to students across the school board. These essentials helped children stay warm, dry, and safe while enjoying everything winter had to offer—building snowmen, sledding down hills, and laughing with friends during recess.

For many families, this support brought real peace of mind during the colder months. Knowing their children could take part in outdoor activities without worry was a gift of both comfort and joy.

“Now that spring is here, we’re looking back with so much pride and gratitude,” said a Board Director from the Foundation. “It feels amazing knowing we helped kids in our community stay warm, have fun, and really enjoy everything winter had to offer.”

The Pearson Educational Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to the donors and community members who made this possible. Your kindness helped carry children through the winter—and we’re excited to keep building on that spirit as we step into a new season.
