Riverview Ski Club Brings the Thrill of Winter Sports to Students
by Simone Viger
Riverview Elementary School’s Ski Club is igniting a spirit of adventure and perseverance in its students! Against the backdrop of swirling snowflakes, 52 eager students braved the slopes at Belle Neige (Val-Morin), ready to take on the challenge of skiing for the first time. With a program that offers affordable access to lift passes, equipment, and expert lessons, Riverview’s students are immersed in a one-of-a-kind experience that promotes physical literacy in a spectacular setting.
Many of the students are new to skiing—only 9 out of 52 have skied before! But they are rising to the challenge, showing great enthusiasm and determination.
The first ski day, held on February 3rd, was a success, with students returning home tired but excited for their next trip. The second day, on February 14th, saw many students gaining confidence and improving their skills on the slopes.
Thanks to Miss Rachel’s leadership and the support of parents and volunteers, the Ski Club is providing a valuable opportunity for students to develop physical literacy while having fun. The final ski day will take place on February 27th. This initiative fosters not only athleticism but camaraderie and community — truly a proud moment for Riverview’s young winter adventurers!
