The Lester B. Pearson School Board is extremely proud to announce that Rosemary Hill has won a National Certificate of Excellence for the 2024 Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. Rosemary, who teaches English at Beaconsfield High School, will receive the award at a ceremony in Ottawa next week.

“On behalf of the entire Lester B. Pearson School Board, I would like to congratulate Rosemary on being recognized with this prestigious award. She has motivated generations of students and served as an inspiration for her colleagues. Rosemary is most deserving of this award for her unyielding commitment to student success and passion for education,” said Cindy Finn, Director General of the LBPSB.

The Prime Minister’s Awards for Teaching Excellence have recognized exceptional elementary and secondary school teachers in all disciplines since 1994, with over 1,800 teachers honoured to date. Teaching Excellence
Awards recipients are recognized for their remarkable achievements in education and for their commitment to preparing youth for a digital and innovation-based economy.

“I’m very honoured and proud to receive this award. But I have to say that my colleagues, my family, the people who support me are who I think of when I think of this award. Without them I wouldn’t be able to do what I do and their support is invaluable,” said Rosemary.

BHS Principal Rachel Wilson said Rosemary Hill is an “agent of change.”

“Rosemary aspires to enrich every student’s learning experience by providing situations and opportunities to think critically, resolve problems in their communities and reach audiences that they would never have otherwise,” said Rachel Wilson.
