SEEDs of a Forest: Playing as a Team leads to Victory!

Quebec School Daycare week was celebrated from May 13-17, 2024. The theme of this year’s Daycare Week was “In School Daycare we play as a Team/En Garde scolaire on joue en equipe.” The AQGS (Association Quebecois de la Garde Scolaire) selected the theme to highlight the contribution that the school daycare personnel provide to the school team.
As an essential link in the school team, school daycare personnel proudly contribute to the overall development and well-being of students. Whether it’s encouraging academic perseverance, providing valuable assistance to students with specific needs, or creating a secure atmosphere, promoting respect and kindness, every action matters. A team is strong when it combines the skills and efforts of each of its members to achieve a common goal. Every expertise, experience, and perspective enrich the group as a whole. Communication, collaboration, mutual trust, and shared leadership are the pillars of this success. It is when these elements are present that the team can overcome challenges, achieve its goals, and collectively thrive. In a team, every role is important, and everyone has the same opportunity to contribute to common success. This is demonstrated every day by their attentive dedication to each student, their innovation in developing enriching activities, and their constant support for the school team’s effort.
At LBPSB, we start by planting a SEED. It grows into a tree with different branches (teachers, students, parents, educators and administrators). Each of our trees are beautiful, unique, have different leaves or needles, are of diverse colours, and shape. Despite these differences they work towards a common goal which is the well-being of our students. Trees were selected as a symbol to demonstrate how our SEED programs work as a team. Trees are known to be sanctuaries, are interdependent and have interconnected roots.
The artwork produced by the students from various schools under the supervision of their educators and technicians is displayed at head office.
