In Their Own Words: Students Give Thanks to Staff During Staff Appreciation Week
by Marilyn Santucci
To celebrate Staff Appreciation Week, we visited Maple Grove Elementary, St. John Fisher Jr., Edgewater Elementary, St. Thomas High School, and PACC to hear directly from students about the staff members who make a difference in their lives each day.
From teachers and administrators to support professionals and caretakers, students shared heartfelt messages of gratitude for the people who help create safe, welcoming, and inspiring learning environments. Many spoke about the encouragement they receive in the classroom, the extra help offered when learning feels challenging, and the kindness shown in both big and small moments.
Whether it was a teacher who makes lessons engaging, a staff member who always greets them with a smile, or a coach who motivates them to do their best, one message was clear: staff play an essential role in helping students grow, succeed, and feel valued at school.
This video highlights just a few of the many voices across our schools who wanted to say “thank you.” Their words serve as a powerful reminder of the lasting impact school staff have on students—not only academically, but personally.
During Staff Appreciation Week, we proudly recognize the dedication, compassion, and hard work of all staff members who go above and beyond to support student success. Thank you for everything you do to make our schools vibrant places to learn and belong.
