Todd Smith: A Musical Tribute to Culture and Black History Month

Todd Smith is a talented songwriter, recording artist, and entertainer who has been a valued member of the LBPSB community since 2012. He initially joined as an integration aide and more recently took on the role of lunchtime supervisor at Allion Elementary.
Todd also leads the CREATE music program at LCCHS, where he inspires students to express their emotions through writing, transforming their words into spoken word, poetry, or music.
Todd’s passion for music began at a young age, influenced by the soulful sounds of Motown, Jazz, Funk, and R&B. He found inspiration in iconic artists like Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Rick James, Luther Vandross, Patti LaBelle, and Al Green. Over time, his musical tastes expanded to include Hip-Hop, Reggae, and any genre that resonates with his heart and fuels his creative spirit.
In celebration of Black History Month, Todd has graciously agreed to share a powerful spoken word piece he wrote, showcasing his artistry and love for music.
